1800ES hatch latch removal 1800 1973

I'm trying to fix the latch on the tailgate of my 1800es, it currently turns without the key, and the key only goes halfway into the lock, so it seems like the cylinder needs to be replaced. From the instruction I've read, I open the hatch, and from the inside of the handle I take off the bolt in the middle and the two screws on either side, and it should come apart from there. Mine doesn't - I've been trying to gently pry the latch (the part that swings with the movement of the key but it doesn't seem to budge regardless of which direction it it turned or wiggled.

You don't need to pull the handle off the glass to remove the tumbler.

The tumbler will come out by removing the retaining screw.

Thanks, Eric, I was worried I'd bust it. The cylinder came out pretty easy, though I did need to put the bolt back in, without screwing it all the way in, and then tap it gently to coax the cylinder out of the lock. Now my tailgate locks! I think I'll need to add a little graphite lubricant in there to keep things moving smoothly.
