hi sages- here must be a very common problem. my 92 245 needs those white plastic sun visor hold down clips and a windshield washer juice reservoir. both have cracked and crumbled given their age. did my due diligence checking partsgeek, ipdusa and fcpeuro and no soap. thinking junkyard trip will be a waste of time since their plastic volvo parts are notorious for crumbling . other manufacturers(dodge, ford,chevrolet) don't seem to have this problem. any thoughts or sources. thanks tons oldduke

Look again on FCP and put in the visor clip part number, 1360896.

As far as the reservoir try http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/body/wipers-parts/cleaning-water-system/water-tank/1024067/ or tascaparts.

I found a washer tank that wasn’t too damaged. Until then (and maybe later), I was considering mounting a 50’s-60’s Ford washer bag in it’s place. Wouldn’t hold as much, but would work.

Though the washer juice (ha!) reservoir is the same no matter interior color.

Also, if crumbling plastic concern, a close look at the coolant expansion tank. See any crazing (fine fracture lines around the plastic).

If replacing interior platic bits, black is best, blue is next, and the browns dark to beige not so good as paler the color gets.

hi kit g- on this forum you , art b and a few others have been very helpful over the years in helping me fix the 245 conundrums and avoiding the cleaners from the shysters. I fear though this time we are cornered at Bastogne with no clips left for our thompsons or .45s. none of those sources panned out . thanks for the tip on the url links. it worked. no 240s left in the yard here . seems even fcp and ipd on this item have gone the way of the clutch pedal. with even sears now circling the bowl,may have to jerry rig and fabricate a repair . moe said what are you worrying about. you know how many times we had to do that on the beach with the shermans . another suggested whittling. never thought of that one. if you have a way out of point du hoc, let me know. thanks tons oldduke

The fuel injection ECU is in a 'silver' case. Galvanized steel, the housing is.

On labels is the Bosch part number and possibly the Volvo PN.

The asinine and crass issue is the pairing of the fuel and ignition ECUs that neither list 'lists'.

Remove the kick panel to the right of your reight knee or lower leg to view the box and label. The label may be partially obscured by the retaining bracket.

Though you should be able to test connected sensor and devices engine control usues to find fault using a digital electric multimeter.

You're referring to your 1908, 1988, 1980 240?

If 1988, you more than likely have the Chrysler-MPG ignition. The box is mounted to the rail containing the washer fluid reservoir. If not faeded or peeled away should be a blue lavel with Volvo on it. A vacuum line connects to it.
