Hood Alignment 200 1983

A couple days ago I was working in the engine bay of my 240, when I noticed some unsightly grime and rust starting to form on the metal below the headlights/grill area and the radiator. I decided to remove the plate above them (what is this called?) for cleaning access, and in the process the hood latch slot fell out.
I in my infinite wisdom did not bother marking down alignments before disassembly, and now I cannot get the hood latch to connect with the slot properly. Thoughts?
