# 96. Tho M47 I (not II) in diagram.

The Output shaft seal is Volvo PN 1233756

You must use a seal press. Some will use a sealant between the seal outer surface.

I'm unsure, yet it is the same seal used in M45 & M46.

Though you could call the dealership and verify. Or Tasca Volvo parts.

iPd and FCP Euro do not offer an output shaft seal for M47.

You will want to verify.

Also, inspect the transmission body as the thin paper seals between the rear splash chamber and the gear box chamber can also leak in time.

Thanks.

I understand that bearings need to be pressed in, but oil seals?

Thanks

1233756 is the correct part number.

The rear seal for the M47 is the same as M45, M400 and later M40(1969-1975).

However, this seal doesn't fit M46, M41, M410 or early M40 (before 1969).
