No start - fuel problem 200 1983

1983 240 cranks but will not turn over. Car has been sitting for a while. Prior to trying to start her up, I removed the hose going to the injector fuel rail and jumpered fuse positions 5 & 7. Barely a dribble out of the hose. Added 4 gallons fresh gas and tried again, still a dribble. I do hear the main fuel pump buzzing.

Any ideas would be appreciated

An 83 sitting with an empty tank would likely have rust in it around here, from condensation. I think, if you want it to run, you have to go In The Tank

When you open the tank and find rust, you'll probably need to backflush the injector screens if you allow the rust to pump through the rail trying to start it.

Pulled fuel hose going to injector rail and activated main pump, very little fuel coming out
