Low-Pressure fuel rail return fuel line ... 200 1990

1990 240 DL li'l red Wagon. 270,000 mile or more?

5/16" OD 30R7 for the low pressure return line between the FPR and the steel line return secured to the firewall / bulkhead. Yes?

The fuel line there smells strongly of fuel. I replaced it once.

The larger EVAP line was fractured at the throttle body post, a quick snip and secure did not abate the gasoline odor on the return from jobby commute

    Hey Kitty, guess you meant ID instead of OD, but having seen some of the stuff passed off as 30R7 compliant, I'd use the 30R9 I have. It is low pressure, sure, if the line is clear and uncrimped all the way back to the fuel tank sender's nipple and the FPR is doing its job.

      The line is clear and the junkyard pulled FPR, not a Bosch, one of the other ones, does alright.

      Maybe top of the tank, a pre leak seep.

      30R7? What is wrong with the 30R7? Import quality or?


      So, I guess what FCP has for low pressure fuel line is okay. I'll look it up.

      Hiya Art,

      Thank you.

      5/16" ID 30R9 for the small section between teh rail and FPR and the same from the fuel rail out to the steel line on the bulk head.

      I see it is a similar rubber line to the fuel pump input.

      I can smell fuel strongly through the under the hood low pressure line return. Nothing is wet. Uncovered the fuel pump relay, hammed the relay contacts closed. Nothing wet, yet a slight fuel smell.

      I'll guess the low pressure fuel line from the tank out to the fuel pump in is also seeping a fuel vapor smell.

      Yep, have a large ABC extinguisher secured in the driver side floor.

      No rear wheel bearing grease repack yet or preemptive exhaust manifold gasket replacement and the remaining exhaust system with Starla header pipe back.

      Still no garage.

      Hiya Jim,

      Well, it is something I *could afford* yet, well, with three deteriorating Volvo 240s ....

      Toyota offered a manual transmission then. Yet My research is inconclusive.

      Yet when one buys used. Like the housing market in arches city, the malodorous toilet (take a drive in the burbs and a walk anywhere in the city) that it is, the used car market is just as screwed up and overpriced for anything under 15 years.

      Rather have a gal-pal. She's my hobby. Kick 240 to the curb unless she likes the 240 curb (kerb) appeal.

      Now that I'm driving daily with a 1992 240 GL with a heater control valve that will fail, a heater fan also on the way, crumbly at the edges exhaust manifold gasket, stiff intake port gasket, rear wheel bearing grease pack (six rear wheel 240 hubs in the wait).

      Now thw land lord want me out or to sign a year lease with a rent increase.

      Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

        Howdy Kitty,

        Ever thought about moving back West?? Strong job market. Best in a long time.

        Among your residences out West I seem to remember you have a familiarity with Bellingham, WA. True?? As do I, but only in a passing through, short-term sense.

        Point is, planning on moving back West soon (this time permanently)!! Doubt I will move back to Portland, the old stomping ground. Wet ground that it is. Vancouver, however, is my favorite city but since I’m not Canadian I guess I’m probably SOL moving directly there... Bellingham is a viable option being so close to Vancouver et al. Plus I do like the place! Seems pretty liveable there. Did you actually live there? Wondering if you can enlighten me about Bellingham??

        Gal pal sounds really good but they too cost money - maybe more than an old 240..:) Still I could use one myself. Been a few years. Hey, many thanks for any light you can shed on Bellingham!

          Hiya Mr. Walker,

          30R7 I guess not. Merely the mundane low pressure fuel line at the

          Oh, yeah. Now my single goal. Leaving Spokane was my stupid mistake. Ugh. St. Louis. A supreme ugly dump. The brand "St Louis" is illness inducing. Vile. Wretching.

          Spokane or like cities or regions East of the Cascades will bne the best bang for the bunck. Relatively dry and sunny small basin with somethning to see in the distance mountanwise, you can easily travel into.

          Not ideal, like now, for the forest fires each summer in areas encountering forest fire smoke and fies. The media makes these events appear far worse. Yet I may not reside in Cle Ellum or Ellensburg WA.

          The mean home value in Whatcom County where Bellingham is climbing high versus the national average. Yetr all the environment has to offer. And Volvo 240 and other RWD Volvo. There is traffic there now that is sort of bad on the I-5, yet nothing like you have in Western, MA. The sun sets in the ocean and it is cheaper by far than I guess where you are.

          Clean air. Good tap water with out anticorrosives in crappy cities like St. Louis and Baltimore and Philadelphia to keep the led from permeating the mineral coating, we hope.

          That's about it. I'd also tender CP-state locations like Colo Spring and Fort Collins-Loveland and to the west in the mountains. I'll guess you do not like snow and cold.

          I'd also suggest Coeur D'Alene and pints North like Sand Point in northern Idaho. If you like snow and dry bright Summers. I'll add NW Montana like Kalispell and like flat head lake locales. Sun Valley in Idaho if you have rich uncles and ski or like snow.

          Stay away from the WA-state Tri-Cities with the Hanford Nuclear Disaster area and plutonium dust in your shioes left out over night or something I read.

          Vancouver, WA, North of the Columbia River from OR-state is sort of useful. And pricey. Just watch the I-5 lift bridge for the deep water port action. Maybe East of the 205 bridge in like Camas, WA.

          White Salmon or any of the communities along WA state SR-14 along the Columbia River.

          The OR and WA coasts? Brookings OR and North? Astoria, OR? Around the Olympics? To the West of Olympia and Thurston County? I'm unsure. WA-state rules, however. Yet you may have a neo-liberal carbon taz added to your daily gas gallon.

          I guess I need to know more what you want .... ?
