Does anyone know of a good source for new seat upholstery? Any idea of prices?
Thanks

If you are still looking, try www.ClassicVolvoRestorations.com He has a large selection of items for the 444/544. I recently got complete door kits, all the window rubber and weathersrip, new fender bolt packages, and a bunch of other goodies for my 444 from him.

I remember VP had a good selection.
At least they did many moons ago.

Excuse me for not remembering, but what year do you have?

Are you interested in any particular upholstery color?

If you want to match the original interior color, do you have the color code?

I have a '66 with interior code; 53-511. The original upholstery is long gone, but the car is red, so I'm guessing the seats were either gray or black. I'm not worried about a perfect match, but something close would be good. I realize the original materials are probably unavailable today.

Most of my customers get their seats reupholstered, opt for a local shop of their choice that will custom fabricate and install seat covers as that is ALWAYS the cheapest option unless you want to tackle the job yourself.

For the very few who aren't feint of heart and can afford it, VP appears to have the correct materiel and patterns for your upholstery code.

A set of front seat covers cost $183.34 per seat, that's 1 seat back cover and 1 seat bottom cover so if you want the front seats to match you need 2 of each.

The rear seat cover set costs $249.45.

FYI, your upholstery code calls for a black interior and the seat covers have black vinyl sides and grey cloth centers.

Actually, I probably will make my own seat upholstery. I learned how to do it a few years ago when I was restoring a Morris Minor. Since then I've done a couple of 122's, and made some seats for a friends airplane. I'll have to buy another sewing machine, since I sold the one I had, thinking I was through with it, and needed the room in the shop. Then I found another project & well, you know how it goes. Making my own will also give me more flexibility in material selection & colors.
Thanks Eric for all your input & information,
