2002 S0 S90-V90

Can someone clarify this concept? As I understand the S90 was first released on 2016

Is the 2002 S90 a developement of the 960?

I have been offered one at a very reasonable price to park next to my 87 740

Thank you very much

There is no 2002 S90. Last year was 1998. Maybe S60?

Yes, the S90 and V90 (wagon version) were a continuation of the 960 sedan and wagon line. Series was produced in 1997 and 1998. Really was the last of the 960’s and the RWD Volvo’s. Basically a 960 mechanically with the same in-line 6 cylinder engine and other major mechanicals.

S40, S60, S70 and S80 models are all FWD or AWD cars. As is the new S90.

i have a 1998 S90 (4 door sedan). In 1998 Volvo "re-badged" the 960 and called it a S90. This was the last year for the S90/960. the earlier posting are correct. The S90 is basically the same car as the 960. The engine is a straight inline 6 cyl., 24 valve, dual overhead cams. model B6304 I think. It's Rear wheel drive

The brand new Volvo S90 is a totally different vehicle.
