The return of spit and sputtering at startup 900 1992

I attached a new in=tank fuel pump but it did not have enough power to push the gas into the fuel injectors because I could only get the motor to idle and would cut off when I pressed the accelerator. Now, I tested the old pump on the battery and it came to life with a lot of power. I am going to reinstall the old fuel pump and see what happens. What else could it be?

Does your car have a single in-tank pump? If so, maybe they sold you a low pressure pre pump for a dual pump car?????

Did you check to see if the new pump was actually pumping before and after install?

Yes, I checked the operation before I installed it but it is not as powerful as the old. The old pump came to life and we are reinstalling.

Do you know the brand and part number of the (weak) replacement?
