fuel filter problem 200 1976

Having trouble getting a fuel filter to fit, got one off Ebay and one from IPD. Both filters were confirmed to fit this car. Both replacement filters are not flat enough for the crush washer to seal against. Any ideas where to get the right filter? Or, am I doing something wrong? I did tighten the ever-living daylights out of things and it still leaks. Back to the old filter I guess.

part numbers? old and new-all. volvo 1276050 aka bosch 0 450 905 021.

volvo changed it in about 1990 to the 81-up 1389450, bosch 0 450 905 601 plus needed parts to make that huge filter fit on the fire wall the 76 never could. i doubt that's what you have, but that's why part numbers are important. waiting, chuck.
