Nothing interesting in the way of shows/cruise-ins this morning...so I left the house early, pre-traffic. Filled the tank - an around Charlotte fill - 99.7 miles/4.88 gallons = 20.4 mpg. Drove .2 mile to I-485 loop and proceeded to make a lap around Charlotte. Cruise on 62-67 mph. About 75F. Came back to the same station, same pump. 67.9 miles on 2.44 gallons (the 2nd "click") = 27.8 mpg...not too shabby.

    Hi Mr. Yount!

    Happy Sat-Your-Day!

Windows down / rear vents open on your LS-powered 282 or do you have your ice-cicle cowld AC on during your sojourn you relate in your report here?

I'll bet your 282 emissions are really clean, also!

Versus, say some lead foot in a K-jet or LH-Jet redblock in good tune, yet they floor it and not enough ooooomph to over come the inertia, so, dumps fuel out that tail pipe.

A good argument for 240 or other RWD Volvo conversion to modern or not so modern yet well-tuned V8. (Or maybe V6? Do folks convert redblock to V6?)

(Or I'll continue to drive stock shabby-chic 240 like a little owld man with light foot on the gas and brake pedal with M47 II.)

    Thank you.

Pleasant this morning - windows cracked, footwell bent open, rear windows closed. Yeah, much cleaner than OEM engine; not putting out any more CO2.
