Hi,
I would not think the Techron did anything to make this happen.
That stuff is nothing more than a Stoddard solvent.
It's another blank way of saying, "its in the neighborhood of paint thinners!"
They are not hiding it because it written right on the side of the bottle.
I tried one bottle, to more or less to see what was inside, as the thinner might be a carrier for some other miraculous chemical. That's their proposal left to imagination.
I could no difference in performance.
Its straight from the cannery row of Snake oils. They are cutting themselves out a slice of profit from the gullible unknowning consumer sector.
I hate to say it's a play, just because they are Chevron and have a longtime recognizable name dating back to Standard Oil days!
The engine just quits without a prior symptoms, is like getting hit sideways by a gust of wind!
You need to check out flags or sage brush piles along side the road ahead for a clue!
Loose leads on the coil or the coil wire itself. An aged rotor button going south can cut things off easily, ignition wise. Wiring to the ICU under the hood could be loose.
An overheating coil in a system relay circuit dealing with pumps and injectors.
These are normal out of the blue things let along harness wiring issue of a mid-eighties car.
Keep driving using your ears, eyes, and a nose like snout of little Miss Piggy! She smells about to root out Mr. H. Froggy to come out and play! (:-)
