240 Seat Rail Extension Kit 200

Good morning BB. Following the recommendations of several fellow enthusiasts, I'm happy to list--not the newest addition to the Wagonmeister line, as I've been building these for years--but certainly a favorite. Now on my website for purchase. This seat relocation kit will add a welcome 2.5" of legroom to your 240.

Cheers!

Dave

I had always resisted going that route because (in addition to being cheap and lazy) I worried about being too far back in relation to the shoulder harness on the B-pillar. As it was, seat pushed all the way back and reclined for my 6'4" frame, I was sitting next to the B-pillar and the belt off my shoulder. In a crash I'd have had another two inches of uninhibited acceleration before the belt came to my rescue. Ideally the belt should be in contact at all times.

I've been wanting to relocate the driver's seat for decades, but my wife's penchant for driving with the wheel pressed up against her chest ("If that airbag ever pops, it'll rip your head off!") and our height difference has put the kibosh on that number.

Early on, I did find out that Volvo provides a minor rearward relocation of the front seats built into the stock seat mounting. There are additional mounting holes in the seat bracketry which will provide about 1 inch more of leg room.

All that is involved is undoing the 4 nuts which secure the seat to its track - quick and easy and undetectable.
