#2 coil not firing, all others OK S90-V90

hello good people of the brickboard. I am currently woring on a 97 V90 that indicates a check engine code of P0302 (cylinder #2 misfire) upon initial
diagnosis I found the #2 coil not firing at all, and swapping with several known good coils, no coil will fire in the #2 position. I measure 12V at pin 15(+) of the coil, but it seems no ground pulse from (and here I'm in unfamiliar territory)
the ignition module is getting to pin 1(-) of the coil. I am assuming that wire
is broken some where in between. I am hoping to simply run a new wire from the ignition module to the #2 coil, but I need wiring diagrams with pin outs of the module, and the location of the module to complete the job. I welcome your
comments, and suggestions, and any helpful info. thanks

The page numbering in the below linked pdf document is all screwy but scroll down about 2/3 of the document and look for:

    Pg 83 (U.S and Canada)
    or
    Page 87 (Other countries)

Here's the URL for the overall list of wiring diagrams if you want to try like a 1997 960 - maybe more readable??

    Good luck!

      Another thought......

If possible, you might explore the possibility of swapping the ICM's to see if the problem moves from cylinder #2 to one of the odd numbered cylinders.

thanks, I did think of that, and it would prove if the fault is in the ICM,
but the rear is so hard to reach, and I found a replacement part on Amazon
for $15, and it's so hot in Austin, TX 103F, that I have to limit time under
the hood to as little as possible. I sweat just thinking about it. Thanks

hello. I have since learned that there are in fact 2 Ignition Control Modules,
(Bosch pn. 227 100 203) mounted front and rear on the lower portion of the intake manifold. the front controls coils 1,3,5, and the rear controls coils 2,4,6.
as per AllData, each module contains 3 ignition driver stages connected to a coil.
it is now my hope that the rear ICM is faulty and not sending an ignition pulse signal to coil #2. and I will replace the module. please offer your comments,
    suggestions,and helpful info. Thanks

please explain what is IME and why is it more likely fault.

and what does it mean "Let us know when hat you find"

        thanks for your reply

hello all. as it turns out, my suspicion was correct. after replacing the
rear mounted ICM, the coil at cylinder #2 is now firing properly, and the engine is running smoothly. thanks to all who made suggestions and comments, and I hope
this info becomes valuable in the future. dougieslugie
