OEM vs. Aftermarket Panhard Bushings 200 1985

I need to replace the panhard bushings on my car (1985 Volvo 240). Is it worth it to go with OEM Volvo bushings, or are aftermarket ok?

baduk, I've been driving 240's since 1979, so, I've changed out a lot of rubber bushings. The one thing I've learned is that aftermarket rubber (including poly) is not worth installing.

My hard-won advice is to stick with the real deal Volvo parts; they'll spare you a pain-in-the-ass.

Aftermarket poly. bushings can be good, but the most important thing regarding any elastic (rubber, poly) is that they must fit tightly in the bore. Have seen some poly. bushings that can be pushed in by hand. That isn't tight enough. Good replacements have steel inserts through the center & steel tubes on the outside. They should need to be pressed in. A vice usually works well as a press in this instance.
Tip. A small quantity of anti seize on the body of the through bolt will greatly ease disassembly.
