Aftermarket Air Mass Meter 700 1985

Put this in all forum instead of here.

Needing an 007 AMM. Anyone have luck with aftermarket? The OEM and Bosch remans are way too expensive. I see Cardone, Walker, Spectra, Delhi. etc No yards near me have any mid 80s 740s.

Update: Aftermarket Air Mass Meter 700 1985

Got an aftermarket just because of the price. Autozone Delphi AF-10335 for $45, limited lifetime, and returnable. Ran the same. While looking around found intake hose from intercooler had come loose. Had all the symptoms of bad AMM. So I guess return it or hang on to it. Got a feeling it was $45 because of not selling. Saw the 017 equivalent was around $150.

Fuel Injection Corp 700 1985

Your best bet is to snag a rebuilt Bosch unit at a yard. Failing that, Fuel Injection Corp (http://fuelinjectioncorp.com/) sells good quality remanufactured Air Mass Meters (and a myriad of other fuel system parts for European cars) at reasonable prices.

I have no experience with Cardone et. al. but I would be leary. The Air Mass Meter is kind of the "heart" of the fuel injection system in our cars. One that is "off" can cause all sorts of interesting running problems that you may not even attribute to the AMM.

Sorry don't know what happened there:

I haven't heard much on aftermarket but I once bought a remaned Bosch unit. It made the car run the same as my old, still good one. But I ended up returning it a few days later after realizing my original one was still good.

007 is lh 2.2 yeah?

There is an 85' na 740 w/ 175K miles at a junkyard near me. If you'd like I could grab it for you, test it in my car, and ship it out to you. I don't know much about shipping prices but you can have it for whatever I pay for it.

Heck of an offer. Yes the 2.2. Try sending me an email via brickboard. Just put AMM in the subject line. Sometimes email here is iffy. Any idea what that yard would charge?

Hi,

I sent you an email through Brickboard, but I'm not sure if you received it. Anyway I called the junkyard about the price and they said they just crushed the 740. Sorry about that. If I come across another one they're around $30.
