coil connection 1800 1967

Still battling with my coil issue

Is there a way to connect a standard coil without cutting into the armoured cable

Should i try straight to the battery to see if the coil works

Any issues

Thanks again

Thanks Eric

I cut through the armored cable and connected the wire to the + terminal on the new coil

My original coil was dead anyway

I will see how it all works tomorrow

FYI, when I am forced to replace the coil with a non-original assembly, I usually re-purpose the original coil housing to hold the new coil.

To test the new coil, use a couple of jumper wires.

Connect the small wire that is connected to your old coil to the "-" terminal on the new coil.

Connect the "+" terminal on the coil to the battery and try to start the engine. Be aware that once you get the engine started you will have to disconnect this or the other jumper wire to stop the engine.
