1983 Volvo 245T k-jet fuel lines 200

My k-jet fuel inction system is leaking fuel out of a couple of fuel lines. Where could I find the fuel lines to replace my fuel lines? I need the lines going from the fuel distributor to the injectors, its leaking out of the plastic lines I also need the shorter (approx 6”) wider rubber fuel line right at the distributor. Is there a place that sales these lines or do I have to make them from plastic lines? I asked the dealer and they said they no longer sell those fuel lines.

You might want to see what lines are still available for Kjet Volkswagen. I think they used kjet for quite a bit longer than Volvo. I have seen Golf's with flexible braided stainless steel kjet lines.

There would have been a lot more of them than Volvo turbos and there is a lot more aftermarket.

The only question would be if the lengths of the lines would be compatible. I was considering trying this to replace the fuel lines on my 1984 turbo, but the car rusted out before the rusty fuel lines did.

Jessiejosco, I remember reading somewhere that Volkswagen's kjet system uses shorter fuel lines for a 1 or 2 injectors, but I'll still check with VW to find out. If not, I think I will try to replace the lines by ordering the high pressure nylon lines from McMaster-Carr or from FreelinWade, I'll check tomorrow since they're closed today already. Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry to hear your '84 turbo rusted so soon.

      along that line of thinking.

Rather than search Volvo...search for Bosch K-Jet parts.

Art Benstein's fuel line treatise on his website may help you.

The hard plastic nylon lines on all fuel injected RWD Volvo should be considered suspect after so many years of under hood conditions and age. Ethanol in gasoline probably does not help.

Sort of the same concern one should have of old flexible brake lines as these are also nylon on the inside and acidic black brake fluid ruin these.

I have seen kits for K-Jetronic injection that replaces these high pressure lines, yet am unsure where to find. Observe the utmost sanitary conditions when replacing these lines.

I'm unsure how to help you. I may search the inter-webz and see what I can find in a day or so.

    Questions and comments?

    Hope that halps.

Kittysgreyvolvo, thanks for the info. Art Bernstein's write-ups helped me gain confidence in taking on the challenge of replacing the fuel lines on my K-jet system. I have found that there is a leak coming from the thicker/wider short fuel line right at the fuel distributor. I will have to take that out and find the right size and where to get it. The info you provided does help a whole lot. Thanks!
