Early 1800 rear end into my '59 445 1800

The 445 station wagon rear has that killer 4.10 ratio. Since these have leaf springs, upgrading is easier to do. I want to---keep drum brakes, keep width close to 445 width, utilize early lug pattern. IT would seem that a pre-4 wheel disc 1800 rear would work. Anyone know the width of a pre-disc rear? Available ratios? comments?

Thanks, Ken in sunny Florida

You can use any rear end out of a 122 and those will be easier to find.

Most 122 sedans and coupes came with 4.10 gears while all of the 122 wagons got 4.56 gears.

The axle widths are the same.

BTW, you can also use a 544 rear end. The B16 544 got 4.56 and sometime 4.88, but the B18 544 got 4.10 gears.

FYI, try to get a Spicer 27 or Spicer 30 instead an ENV or a Salisbury.

    "...has that killer 4.10 ratio."
That could read as good or bad! 4.10 good for cruising. Except for a handful of very early 1800 that didn't have OD the 1800 ratio is a 4.56.

445 and 1800 rear track is 51.7". Some 1800 specs say 51.6" or 51.8" But close enough.
