master cylinder 120-130

Hello all

Anyone found a better brake master cylinder than the original

Mine seems to seep out brake fluid over time and destroys the paint on the m/c

Thanks

David

Is it seeping out the back of the MC? That is bad and a sign that the seals have failed and its time for a rebuild or replacement.

If the issue is weeping from around the reservoir connection and the only issue is paint damage, consider the switch to DOT 5 fluid. This will require a complete flush of the system and DOT 5 is about three times the price of non DOT 5 fluid; but, the DOT 5 does not damage paint. The DOT 5 is also not hydroscopic which means it won't absorb moisture with the resulting corrosion of cylinder (provided you flush completely). This allows extended brake system flush intervals making DOT 5 a favorite fluid for classic car owners who do not drive their cars a lot.

DOT5 is not for people who track or race their cars or otherwise engage in severe brake duty. It also doesn't work in ABS systems; but, that shouldn't be an issue for an Amazon!

I bought a Wilwood m/c, on Ebay for my 122 but haven't put brake fluid in it yet, but hope to real soon. They're made for race cars & look like pretty good quality. They're available in different bore sizes. I think mine is 7/8. The bolt holes line up perfectly. They also make a clutch m/c.
