240 & 940 horns, both the same but diff p/n? 200

hi,
i'm surprised my horns failed in my 86 245. i'm sure they're the originals; wife bought the car new.

in sourcing the original horns, i see one of the tones is discontinued.

the 940s have the low (335 hz) and high (420 hz) horns, but have different volvo and bosch p/n than the 240s.

both are bosch and same low/high frequencies.

question, any differences? my guess is no.

i have a 940, but it had an aftermarket junk, and replaced it with the 240 horns. i had to take the horns from my 92 to pass inspection.

thanks,
byron golden

FCP Euro has one Volvo made by Bosch horn. I dialed in 1992 Volvo 240 GL in the selector before checking it.

Else, I've collected scores of Bosch and Hella and other horns, and mounting hardware to hang them from the top cross member (that carries the hood latch receiver) from the salvage yards also.

My 1991 and 1992 each have four or five horns. One large very low note horn, I think they are Bosch, gotten from Mercedes. Also, Bosch horns from Volvo, and such. The 1990 has only three horns - one 240 low note and two high note 240s (or vice versa - I forget). Seems to help and gives Volvo horn some more authority.

    Hope that halpz yooooooooo.
