Yep. Say no to made in chinesium. Chinesium are dog-awful alloys in both brake rotors and also components to build a new Bay Area bridge. Or alloys used to build outdoor (OSP out-side plant) telecom communication cabinets. (The urethane and powder coat finishes were not so well adhered to the aluminum, and the steel rack pillars inside the cabinet were severely corroding and malodorous, like rotten smelling, after arrival across the Pacific ocean.
Set of vented front solid rotors warped in a year of not hard or hot driving. The box brand suggested Europa, though forget the brand origins yet unknown if chinesium alloy. The only set I bought new.
All were junkyard brake rotor pulls, well above minimum thickness, turned (lathed) at better brake and muffler shops and using Volvo (Made in India) rather soft and dusty blue box pads. I'll not ever use PBR or other brake pads with metal in them. Have yet to try fully ceramic pads.
No cross-drilled rotor experience, though I saw these on RWD junkyard Volvos a very few times.
Also, them slotted rotors, even those made by Zimmeran and Brembo, with German and Italian steel alloy, and both nations make quality alloys for the application, can warp way more easily with usual or moderate motoring and braking, than do their regular ventilated rotors.
Flush that brake fluid! Many seem to like black brake fluid and partly seized calipers on the spacedfacedbooktoob Volvo 240 fan club.
