P1800 crossmember interchange 1800

Anyone know if any crossmembers, such as a 142/144 interchange with a 72 1800E? Any good resources which list parts interchange info?

My crossmember is probably fine, I’m just thinking it’s more convenient to buy a used one, seam weld it, reinforce the shock towers, send it out to be powder coated in the correct gray, then just bolt it in in one shot, rather than taking my car apart and leaving it in bits whilst I do the crossmember work.

Any suggestions where to buy one?

    Thanks,

I think that's what I'll probably do. We have tons of local welding and powder coating shops. Local welding shop quoted me a really good price to seam TIG weld it.

Plus, we're in the middle of winter here, won't be driving it much anyways.

140/164 crossmembers won't fit as they have different mounting points.

If you are properly prepared and have access to the properly facilities, it should take less than a week to sandblast, weld and paint.

My shop is in Los Angeles County and I have my pick of sandblasters and powder coaters, so if I make the necessary arrangements, I can have a crossmember sandblasted, welded and powder coated in 2-3 days.

Surely you mean soda blast? Or some other kind of media. I had a friend who got his 164 sand blasted, it had a sunroof and the whole thing was so out of shape that the roof looked like waves on the ocean. Fortunealy he was turning it into a racecar, so it was just more work to fix it rather than an epic fail.
