Fuel smell after fill up 700

I have the occasional fuel smell after fill up that last fill up seemed to drip fuel when parked underneath the tank pump.

Do I need to look at the big rubber hose:

Fuel Sender leak 700

Turns out it was the fuel sender. The metal pipe on the sender for the fuel return developed a leak.

Thankfully I was expecting to replace it and had a donor fuel sender available.

Rust? That was what did in the fuel sender on my 240. It was also the metal pipe.

Yes. It had an accumulation that prepared me for it's demise.

My leak was at the return line closer to the tank.

And you got that smell after fill up? That was the return line from the fuel pressure regulator?

I haven't looked yet but I do not see a Y in the hose on the original part schematics showing where the small branch would go. Picture of the new part show the Y as described in the FAQ.

Yes after fill up. The line I'm referring to is on the passenger side of the tank.

It was hose #9 in this picture. I just took a piece with me to the local auto parts store and got a piece of fuel hose and some good clamps.
