Engine light won't reset after transmission rebuild S90-V90

So, I was happy in my 1998 V90 until the pump disintegrated and spread metal throughout. Blinkenlites, limp-home etc. (This is where you find out if and just how much you really love your Volvo.) I bit the bullet, had the entire thing rebuilt and it shifts like new. BUT, the check engine light will NOT go out. There are NO, zero codes to be found. My OBDII tool won't clear it. Disconnecting the battery and all that stuff won't clear it. Even my well-respected transmission guy is scratching his head. Anybody?

Check for a broken or disconnected wire.

As suggested, try posting this on the AWD forum. There are many people over there that have a much greater knowledge than I of OBD ll.

    Hy Gary,

Well, two months since your post. Not swell service.

This forum is lacks info on the S90-V90, and more so on 1997+ S90-V90.

OBD-II is not well supported here on in the 700-900 FAQ or on the RWD forum.

You may want to ask on OBD-II on the AWD/FWD forum here? Click AWD at the top of the page.

The FAQ entry on your AW 30 transmission.

Not helpful for your 1998 V90 and OBD-II info.

I suggest you use both Bing and the evil Google and it's agenda to not provide usually useful results to search for posts on other forums.

Else, some of the Europa forums or a facebook group page supporting S and V 90 (and perhaps 960) can help you.

    Questions?

    Hope that halps.
