FL1 oil filter 120-130

I changed my oil in the 121 and found I had no Mann oil filters. I did have FL1 Motorcraft filters so I used on of those. I did read somewhere that motorcraft makes a decent filter. The mount is the same and it's a bigger capacity. Has anybody tried this? The only drawback I can think of is the longer filter maybe would vibrate more.

The Ford filter is so cheap, I don't see any point in using the baby Volvo filter, only thing is the bypass pressure spring is half pressure, which is only a problem if you are eating several cam lobes at once.

I would say the best is a 1 quart Nissan or Toyota, ensuring they are still MIJ.

I used to use them on my 240's, you should be fine.

hi pageed- want to clarify- thought the fl1 was tool long for the 240. there isnt too much room between the top of the filter and the engine mount. thanks tons oldduke ps i have a few old but good # 1 filters which used to be in very common usage . most dodges and plymouths used to use them.

Used an FL1 on my Toyota 2TC 1600cc "hemi" SCCA racer for 8 seasons. Gained an extra 1/2 qt of capacity and it worked beautifully.
