Where do green wires go? 444-544

On my 444 one of the previous owners removed the coil and ignition switch.They partially installed a 4 post switch.Ignition,battery,accessory,and ST.There are 2 green wires combined with 1 connector that's same size as other wires on ignition switch coming out of the factory loom.I'm not sure but since these wires are right next to my ignition switch they must connect to one of the posts.Can someone please tell me where to connect them and where they go.Wiring is not something I was ever good at,thanks.

Where do green wires go? 444-544

The 2 green wires go to the accessories pole on the ignition switch.

1 green wire goes to the fuse box to provide switched power and the other goes to the fuel gauge.

Thanks Eric.If you don't mind can you tell me where each wire on the back of the ignition switch goes.The loom is complete and pretty nice except it's missing regulator wiring and generator wiring.They have been cut out,and not in a clean manner.

The B18 I put in has a 12 volt generator,I have a 12 volt regulator to install with it.If you would tell me how to wire the generator and regulator to each other and the car it would be great because I would be done with wiring lol.

There are a lot of pv444 wiring diagrams online I just can't read them.

Battery: red wire
ST/starter: gray wire
Ignition: added wire that goes to "+" pole on your aftermarket 12 volt ignition coil

The original ignition coil didn't have a separate "external" wire for the ignition as the original coil and ignition switch were a combined unit and the ignition wire was internal.

If you are using the original B18 generator and not an alternator, then the wiring is the same as the 6 volt generator and regulator.

Do you have the original 6 volt generator wiring harness?

If you don't, you will need to fabricate a replacement.

Are both the 6V and 12V regulator terminals labeled the same?The 6V regulator is still mounted and the 12V regulator is stored at another location.

Terminal marked F has a short cut off thin black wire connected to it.

Terminal marked BAT has thick light brown wire that goes back thru firewall.

Terminal marked GEN has a thick light brown wire hanging down by generator with end cut off.

There is also a thick red wire and thin green wire sticking a couple feet out of the firewall.These wires are also very near generator.

I really appreciate you helping me.With a weeks worth of tinkering hopefully I can take a drive through our neighborhood.

They are not labeled the same and it sounds like you may have to make a 3 wire harness to connect the 12v generator to the 12v regulator.

The 12 volt generator should have 3 posts for wires and they should be marked D+, DF, and D-.

The original 12 volt Bosch regulator should have 4 posts, 3 on 1 side and they should be marked, D+/61, DF, D- with B+ on the opposite side.

To make the harness, you will need 5-6' of 8 ga black for the D- wire and 5-6' of 8 ga red wire for the D+ and 5-6' of green 16 ga wire for the DF wire and the appropriate crimp connectors. Use the correct 8 ga crimp connectors which I buy from my local Napa auto parts store.

Connect the D+ to D+
Connect DF to DF
Connect D- to D-
Connect brown wire(should be red) that goes through the firewall to B+.

Thanks Eric I seriously appreciate it.Since buying the 444 a few months ago I've removed the interior,fabbed,welded and seam sealed new floor boards in..

Swapped the B18/M40 from my 544 into the 444,bought,stripped and had a friend narrow a toyota 8",and am well into a one-off 4 wheel disc brake system.

For me sorting out and repairing the wire loom is/was the hardest part of the project I've done to the car so far.I guess don't have the attention span to do wiring.
