Dear Volvitowagon,
Hope you're well. If I recall correctly, when all the instrument cluster warning lights come on - while the car is running - that's a sign that the alternator no longer is charging the battery. The first thing to check is to see if the alternator's drive belt is present and in good order.
Next, if the alternator's drive belt is present and in good order, inspect the crank pulley (harmonic balancer). If the crank pulley's rubber insert has failed - if the steel core (through which passes the crank bolt) moves independently of the outer steel ring, on which the drive belts are mounted - then the alternator is not being turned fast enough to maintain battery charge.
To ascertain the crank pulley's condition, use white or yellow paint to draw a line from the edge of the crank bolt towards the face of the pulley and, then down towards the ground. The line is an "L" shape, with the long leg of the "L' inside the steel core, and the short leg of the "L" across the face of the outer steel ring.
Switch on the engine and rev it gently. If the single line now consists of two segments - say, the inner line is at 2 o'clock and the outer line is at 8 o'clock - the crank pulley has failed and must be replaced.
Hope this helps.
Yours faithfully,
Spook
