Small volt meter bulb replacement 200

How do you replace the bulb on the small volvo volt meter? Does it pull or twist out? I have tried both without success and would like to avoid breaking it.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it to be like the little clock and I think it just pulls out of the back.

Art B. would know better than anyone here.

Regards,

Matt

I think so too, Matt. Kinda twist the socket 1/4 turn to the left and pull gently? That's how I remember it anyhow. I was hoping someone was less lazy than I am and would take a look at one to be sure.

Here's something if not helpful:

For the type of bulb holder in Art's picture he's correct, twist a bit and pull. All gently, and it should come out no problem.

I've also seen these accessory gauges making use of the same bulb holders as you'll find in your center console (at least on the later interior cars) for the lighting that comes on with the headlights and cluster lights. I don't know if they used these holders originally or if this is just a clever solution when the original bulb holder is missing, but it works. In this case, the holder will pull out without twisting (gently again).

Here is a photo of the second type of holder:

It took more than gentle twisting, but I did get it out without breaking anything. It must have been there a long time and wanted to stay! Thanks to all!
