Removing 1971 1800 Brake Booster 1800

I recently picked up a 1971 1800 with some long time brake repairs needed. I sourced 2 new reman front calipers - now find the booster is leaking. I have removed every bolt that holds it to the firewall, and its still hung up on something inside. The pin for the pedal was also removed, but something is still connected.

I noticed this has an almost turnbuckle looking connection where the booster rod connects to whatever is in the dash holding things up.

Is there a trick to getting this apart so I can remove the booster completely?

Thank you.
Jeff

Thank you very much Eric. I'll give this a whirl. No idea how to get it back together - there is just no room to do anything.

I always remove the 4 booster nuts then pull the booster forward to expose the connection between the booster and the pedal linkage, barely loosen the jam nut so as to NOT affect the factory length adjustment and then unscrew the booster linkage from the pedal linkage.

You will probably have to reconnect the linkage at the brake pedal to make my booster removal technique work.

FYI, if you have to replace the booster vacuum hose and/or inline vacuum check valve, I almost always have the correct type and size of both hose and check valve.

It is not unusual for me to find the wrong size and type of brake booster vacuum hose and an inline booster check valve with wrong size(smaller) hose barbs. Even Volvo sells the wrong check valve.

I forgot to mention that I also can provide you with a rebuilt and powder coated brake booster.
