How to open bonnet when pull cable won't 700 1990

Hood is latched shut. Pull cable at driver's knee doesn't release it.
Grill is in place, not removable 'til hood is open.
Shield/pan is attached under engine, easy enough to remove but I don't see anything to get to from under.
Somebody has got to have solved this before!?

Do you think that the cable is broken?

If not, try having someone press down on the hood and release a few times while you pull on the release.

If that doesn't work, go where you should have in the first place, read the FAQ.

Yeah, what it says in the FAQ and also search the forum. It happened to me a long time ago, but I think I finally got it to open by pounding on the front of the hood. In my case the cable was okay but the sliding parts were gummed up. Once you habe ot open, go at the openings with WD-40.
