Voltage regulator question... 200

All,

I may have prematurely bought replacement brushes to do some preventive maintenance work on two alternators for both of my 240s.

The Bosch voltage regulators that I have are as follows:
1 197 311 008, and
1 197 311 002

From what I can tell/find on the internet is this:
1 197 311 008, will work for 90-93 240s, fits a 28mm slip ring, is 14.6 Volts at 90 Amps. So does mean my brushes will not work here???

1 197 311 002, Currently in my 1991 240, fits a 32mm slip ring, is 14.7 volts, unknown amperage. Again, so does mean my brushes will not work here???

Any and all input is gladly welcomed.

Thanks in advance,

Matt
