Hi - Volvo 740 Turbo.

Idle goes up and down in about 1-2 second bursts. Misses a bit. Might stall.

I have encountered things like it and it was the air mass meter. But when it was the AMM the idel did not go up and down - actually idled OK but missed when accelerator applied.

So the idle going up and down is new to me...?

Anyone have any thoughts?

    You might want to clean the idle air control valve, throttle body and PCV system.

      And check for vacuum leaks.
