1800 ES brake proportioning valve (or Power regulator) 1800 1973

My p1800es, has a bad brake proportioning valve. (new caliper will not move.)
Replacement valves seem to be in short supply. Anyone have a new one? What is experience with non oem parts? Other helpful hints re: experience with replacing the valve?
Thank you,
Victorsee

Are you sure it's not a collapsed/restricted hose. The rear brake hoses on my ES were so bad I couldn't force fluid through them in EITHER direction - even when pushing on the brake pedal with all my (limited) strength. Sometimes you can press on the pedal and force fluid into the caliper, but when you release the pedal the fluid won't return - the hose acts as a sort of unwanted check valve.

Ditto on the swollen hoses. Make sure that its not one of the hoses that is the problem before messing with the proportioning valve.

If it is the proportioning valve, disassembly / cleaning / replacing internals is not difficult. Just don't mess with the screw tension adjustment.

New hoses?

Verify fluid pressure before and after the valve.

In a lot of cases, you only need to remove disassemble, clean, assemble and install the bad valve.

I have rebuild kits in stock if you need them.

And new valves are available, but you have to buy a pair and they cost over $300.00 for the pair.
