is it practical to alter a 940 turbo fuel system 900

to run one in-tank high pressure pump rather than the 2 pump stock setup?

the fuel filter would remain under the car but the line in and out would be modified to reflect the change.

making this change seems to me more efficient and much cheaper with no loss in fuel pressure delivery.

I believe there was one (maybe two) year of 940 Bosch that did do this. Search the site but I am pretty sure it was 1994-1995. Regina always did that but it was restricted to NA motors only in the US.

That would be 1995 940. This based on the wiring diagram. Both NA and turbo versions use only one fuel pump. Unfortunately I don't have their part numbers i.e the pump.

The way I see it the two pumps setup is almost trouble-free for 15-20 years (when using OE pumps - in-tank pump could be VDO/Siemens and under car pump is always Bosch), except nearing their end of life when diagnosing could be an issue.

      Regards,
      Amarin.
