front bumper air trim thingy 200 1993

'93 240 Wagon: 250k miles

Anyone know how to re-attach the trim piece under the front bumper: The little screw hole that holds the passenger side is broken; the screw no longer has anything to hold onto. You all know what I'm speaking about...it's the trim piece that lives under the front bumper...little screw right in front of the passenger side tire. Thanks!

I repaired mine by buying the next larger stainless steel sheet metal screw, heating it over a candle and screwing it into the vinyl when hot.

I have no idea if it will ever come out again.

I've seen loose bumper parts held on with zip ties. (Drill small hole through which to insert black zip tie.)

That is how I fixed mine, nearly invisible with black zip tie. Use a sturdy one.

Hi,

I had to think about it a minute, but I think you mean the air dam.

Now I can't offer too much advice pertaining to that screw. Shamelessly, I just realized there was a screw hole there that held the air dam positioned only about 3 years ago. For years on my 90 244 I would just tuck that corner under, I didn't have any idea that there was a screw there.

Maybe glue (hot glue?) the unseen sides of the pieces together?

Travis
