244 Drift Build 200 1991

Hey everyone I'm new to older Volvos but I'm a Volvo technician right now and I just purchased a 1991 Volvo 240, any tips on what engine to swap that wouldn't be insanely expensive or take a year to complete? I've looked into LS swaps or 940 turbo swaps and I'm wondering if there are any kits out there for V8s or which V8 engine would require the least amount of custom fabrication. It's an automatic and I plan on making it a 5 or 6 speed. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

You're going to get better and more responses from www.turbobricks.com.

Easiest option for big power in a 240 is to turbocharge it using pieces (of the whole engine) from a 740 or 940.

I know there was a company or two that made adapter kits for Chevy 350s out there, once upon a time, and some options for T5 transmission swaps and cetera. There are plenty of people building 240s, but requires deep pockets or lots of expertise and time.

It doesn't let me register on their website.

haven't used them in 16 years but if they still exist. ADVANCED ADAPTERS might have volvo-V8 conversion kits.

As a kid, I made my own Mounts and stuff for my Chevy Vega (probably before your time) but Advance adapters had stuff for my Jeep. chevy drivetrain in a CJ.

Just looked into Ford 302s and I found one for $100 that might not run and another on with tranny and all for $900 with 74,000 miles on it. Also found a 351 4 barrel Cleveland, didn't get a price on it yet. I kinda want to do American muscle with this one because my other builds have all been on 4 cylinders. I also found a 4.8 vortec from a 2000 Silverado with wires and all for $350. Any help?
