Any other options known? Please share. The wife's daily driver ('94 940 w 467k) is in bad need of a drivers seat... foam almost gone on back.. side near door.

Hope you're well. On the data plate, the interior trim color data are contained in the fourth row from the top, in the second number group.

From the Volvo Pocket data booklet - Cars (700,850, 900) 1991-1996, p. Table - 11, it is clear that:
6 = 700/900 series
2 = Tricot Plush (Woven Fabric)
7 = Grey.

In the next lower row (412 - 22), "412" designates the paint color("Aquamarine Metallic") the first "2" designates the paint-maker (Herberts) and the second "2" designates the paint type ("Water borne metallic").

Hope you're well. All 700/900 seats interchange mechanically. Front Seats from 960s and S/V90s require power supply. There's a procedure in the FAQs for bringing power to passenger seat's door-side rail: most 940s sold in North American markets did not come with a power passenger seat.

As to the seat(s) you need, what color and type (cloth or leather)? I have some grey coth front seats taken from a '93 940, that had about 100K miles on it, when I removed them in favor of leather, which I prefer.

Front seats can be shipped by FDX/UPS Ground, if headrests are removed. A box from U-Haul fits perfectly, if flaps re-cut to make the box two inches taller.

I had thought they were blue, but she informed me they are grey.

Now, is it just the foam that is bad? If that is the case, I would be tempted to get the foam from a JY passenger seat and swap that in.

If I can ever get my priorities straight I have a pair of manual seats to swap into my 1993 940 and would have a good passenger seat in tan leather and good foam, mostly good electrics, bad leather drivers seat you could have.

Yes, from what I understand all 700/900 seats should fit. Personally, I'd look for a good 960 seat. From what I've read they are more comfortable than the 740/940 seats. I imagine the S90/V90 seats should fit as well (same track) and they are the newest models - 1997 and 1998. Most 740/940 seats are toast by now.
