Rotary Compressor conversion in 1974 164E? 140-160

Anyone have any luck mounting one of these Sanden 508 compressors with the adapter bracket? I ordered a set on Ebay, going to give it a shot, seller assures me it fits a 164. I need an idler pulley though, my car didnt even have it installed when i purchased it, guess it seized and was removed from the car long ago. Need to figure out what belts to get also.

Any advice to offer?

Thanks!

Andrew

I am pretty sure I have more than one idler pulley available - would that be the type that sits on a bracket attached with a single bolt to the front of the cylinder head? Contact me at--fastforwardphoto(AT)yahoo(DOT)com---. As for the belt--wrap a string around the pulley path when the pulley is installed to get the overall length and bring the pulley to a parts store so they can determine the belt width. I think an indy parts store should be willing to let you exchange belts until you know you have a workable solution--maybe a friendly chain store would do that too. Many belt brands have their length listed as part of the part #. -- Dave
