Throttle rod to cable conversion 1800

Been wanting to convert from a rod type throttle linkage to a cable, and I was wondering what the best way to do that is. I have an early P1800, 1962, with dual DCOE's and a mild B18. Can I swap the fuel injected pedal and cable from an E/ES into mine or am I missing something? Sorry if this has been asked before, nothing came up when I searched.

The pedal assembly from an 1800E or ES will work; or you can use some other pedal from another car that also uses a cable.

Then, connect that to this:

... and you're on your way.

Firstly, I think you're perhaps a bit crazy (aren't we all?)

For one, I really like the simple (and elegant) direct linkage. Why do you want to change it (unless it's not working or not set up right)?

Second, a 'mild B18' and you're running DCOEs? I'd switch back to stock with a *good* set of SUs... keep the Webers on a shelf for when you build an engine that can really make use of them..

That said, I expect you'll have some fabrication if you really do want to cable the throttle. I'm sure you could use some parts from an E or ES (pedal, brackets under the dash, cable). But you'll have some fabrication under hood to adapt from the fuel injection setup to the carbs. Maybe there are options that could be had from Weber parts suppliers...

Seems more trouble than it'd be worth to me.

Well, I already have a set of DCOEs in good working order, but not a good set of SUs. Also, I say mild because it's not an extreme build, but I do feel that for me, DCOEs are the way to go. That being said I don't like feeling engine vibrations through my pedal. I know there's someone out there who has done this, anyone have advice?

Im not familiar with how the webers hook up to a b18. But I did quickly fab a cable linkage for the cruise control on my su/b18. Was easy enough, basic difference rod pushes cable pulls? (I'm 2nd guessing myself cant remember if the last throw of the linkage is push or pull, too lazy to go out and check)
Basically I made a little bracket that held the cable housing and attached the cable to the throttle arm.....so easy I have forgotten, I probably used bicycle parts.

Ah, vibration. That makes sense. Something I've never been bothered by, but I'm kinda used to it :)

Cameron replied with probably the correct solution...
