    Dear blindboy,

Hope you're well. What type (sedan or wagon) and color seats do you need?

I concur with trichard: no seats from any front-wheel drive Volvo will fit in a rear-wheel drive car. Seats from 240/260 cars will not fit in any other models.

These things said, 960 front seats (leather) fit perfectly in 940s. I've done the swap, including bringing power from the central fuse block to the front end of the door-side seat track.

Note: for wagons, all 1993 and later seats (front and back) interchange (960/V90 to 940). For wagons, pre-1993 rear seats do not fit in 1993 and later wagons (the seatback locking mechanism is different).

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook

        Dear Blindboy,

Hope you're well. Sedan or wagon?

I have a set of gray cloth seats removed from a 940 wagon when it had about 72K miles.

If you only need front seats, I have a set of grey cloth seats that came out of a '93 940, with about 120K on 'em.

It likely would be a good idea to use seat covers, so that they can be removed and "de-furred"!!

        Pls. contact me via e-mail.

        Hope this helps.

        Yours faithfully,

        Spook

            Dear Blindboy,

Hope you're well. I left a voicemail. These seats can be shipped. I've done this.

U-Haul sells a box ($9.75; 24.5" x 24.5" x 27") into which a front seat fits, if the headrest is removed (boxed and put on the seat) and if the box flaps are "re-cut" to bring the box up to 29" in height. That height means the box is not "oversize" according to FedExGround or UPS tariffs. Shipping via FedExGround - with delivery to a home address - for each seat will be about $80-90, including the price of the shipping carton.

The rear seat cushions can also be shipped, but will have to go in three boxes, unless I can fit the larger cushions into a single box.

            Hope this helps.

            Yours faithfully,

            Spook

very unlikely. the track dimensions are different

960 seats will fit as will 740 seats

i suggest you look for a 940 with cloth seats because they hold up better than the leather ones

Agreed, Volvo cloth seats are made of zirconium! At 300k my 90 240's cloth seats had no rips, tears or unusual wear.
