1992 745 horn just stopped working.

Someone pulled out in front of me. I hit th horn button. It sounded for a bit then it just stopped. I have power to the blue wire in the center of the steering colum. Could the problem be with the horn? If I supply ground to that wire, the horn does not sound either. Thanks for any help. Is there a horn relay?

Most horns lead a tough life - they die all the time, especially 1 horn out of 2, when the second one dies is when you notice it.

When you test them (which is what I would do first) you might fiddle with the screw that adjusts them- it might fix one.

Ditto to applying 12v from battery to +/- on horns. Sounds like a horn issue for you or a bad ground under the airbag. Wiggle the ground clip if the horns sound with direct voltage.

Just an FYI to others the yellow wires supply voltage to the horn, which I believe comes from the windshield wiper stick.

Blue wires are on the negative side of the horn and go to the steering column under the top cover. Then thru the brush and circular contact and to the left horn button then right and then grounds on the inside under the airbag.

Other failure points are the ground under the airbag and the horn button has a little plastic nub on the bottom that melts a little bit every time you use it. You can epoxy a brass but on the bottom of the horn button and filed down to the correct height. No horn relay in the system.

The middle finger is just not loud enough!

If you have a battery charger or anything to jumper 12v directly to horn it will tell you if the horn is bad. Disconnect wiring to it before doing this.
