The URO I had for ten years did not do this, yet that was in the year 2000. Meyle was worse.

They used to be Made by Boge of Germany with an SKF or, later, FAG (of Spain) open at the top ball bearing race, so you can lube 'em, and cover with the dust caps.

If you used strut cartridges that require it for pre, what, 1985 non-turbo 240 strut cartridge housing (tubes). I'm unsure. I'm weak on the 1980s models. Never owned one.
