odometer 200 1992

greetings fellow volvoist,

I have a 1992 245.
I have changed both gears on the odometer and it still does not work.
On the face it has the number: K39200 (The older ones with the number: K10042 will not interchange with it.)
The speedometer does work.
Does anyone know anything about this? I did not see anything in the FAQ section unless i overlooked it.

thank you!
ennrique

Also, when you have it open again to check for the broken tooth stuck in the ring gear, look closely at the motor pin solder pads for a crack like this:

Wow! Wow! Wow! Art thank you so much!
The ring gear is fine. I re-soldered the odometer gear motor pins and my odometer works!!! Thank you so much!

I also have an '89 744 and the odometer does not function.
Do you know anything about how to get to work again?

blessings!
Enrique

Thanks, Art, but you should add the subtitle "Get Out Your Bifocal".

It's very easy to miss the odd piece of broken tooth when changing the cog. Any small piece is liable to jam everything up. The drive cog for the numerals can also slip on its shaft.
