Weird throttle after replacing Engine Wiring Harness 200 1982

I just recently bought an engine wiring harness from Davebarton.com because my oil light was flickering. I took my Volvo to a mechanic to have them put it in because I don't have enough time to do a job like this. After I got the car back, I noticed that the mechanic unplugged the expansion tank overflow hose, so I plugged it back in and started driving back home. While driving it seems that I have to really push on the peddle to get the car to increase speed, more than I am normally used to. Also when driving at around 60mph, to get the car to go any faster I have to put my foot all the way down, and even then it barely increases speed. After I got back home I noticed the expansion tank cap was hissing and there was some coolant around the tank. Then the expansion tank cap let out a bunch of coolant but still stayed on the tank. Does anyone know what is going on with my car?

Well you could take it back to the mechanic to have him re-check the harness installation. The problem there is, now that the old harness is out, what is he going to check the installation against? Does he have a really good set of wiring diagrams for your year and model?

For the problem your having, low power and apparent over heating, I would first look at ignition timing and timing belt alignment. I know it doesn't make any sense that a harness installation would affect that. It is just what I would check based on those symptoms.

Where the coolant temp and boost gauges reading normal?

I would take it back to him or just ask him about the job, but he isn't available until Monday and I have finals all next week, so I need my car. The temp gauge seemed to be fine, it only seemed to overheat after I got off the freeway and into my driveway. The boost gauge seemed to be normal too.
