Relay 444-544

Hi, I want to wire in relays to my lighting and I am using the old Bosch.
Would this be correct. 30 from battery. 86 from light switch. 85 to ground. 87 to lamp.

    Relay 444-544

that sounds right....when in doubt I put my multimeter to it, but I have done enough relays to know this one. run heavy wire from 3o to bat abd from 87 to headlights. make sure head light ground is good. you can use the in situ wiring that used to go to the headlights as your switched "+" (BTW neither the 85-86 or the 30 -87 care are polarity sensitive they just need one pole on each side ie 85+ 86- etc and the 30 87 is just a switch so any current will pass through it.

    Relay pinouts 444-544

A single pole relay has 5 terminals
30 is 12 volts in from battery source.
85 is 12 volts to energize the relay coil.
86 is ground to relay coil.
87 is normally open contact when relay is NOT energized.
87A is normally closed contact when relay is NOT energized.

    Hope this helps.

    Ray J.
