Part number 7210941 300

The garage says my car needs part no 7210941, and cannot find one. Can anyone tell me what this part is, and if it can be made?

Didn't you ask your shop people?

The garage told me the part number but did not know what it was called in normal language.

Could you ask them to tell you again? The name may have more than two or three words for it.

What year is your Volvo 360 GL, please?

What is wrong with your Volvo 360 GL that it requires repair?

If the service mechnical could spell it out, could you post here?

In image would help. Also, would the item have any other numbers on it?

A search in the 1985 340-360 parts catalogue does not reveal any number beginning with 7. I've not seen a Volvo part number that begins with 7 before.

I'll look at the 300 series PDFs from Volvo tips.

The Volvo Tips Volvo 300 and 400 series PDFs are images. So, this may take a little time.

As the DAF Volvos did not make it to the states, though I've seen a few in three decades, info may be hard to come buy. Still have some room before exhausting the resources.

Thank you.

Bruce.

bellisew,

For Volvo 300 series? By your postal (us=zip) code, you are in Croydon, England?

A Google search from here inside the states reveals this thread on the Volvo forms UK:

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?p=2085729

So, I guess something to do with the Volvo 300-series (340 or 360) ignition system?

Could be a DAF part number? Volvo bought DAF in Netherlands. Then came the DAF/Volvo 66, 300, and the 400 series. I dunno how Volvo translated the DAF part number to the Volvo part number index and hierarchy.

As NewMexico240 asks, please contact the repair shop.

Maybe a photo image of the part requiring replacement?

You may also want to contact your nearby Volvo dealership, a quality auto parts store near you. I'm unsure, yet I believe later DAF, up to the Volvo acquisition, and during conversion of DAF to the Volvo badge as the 300 and 400 series, used Robert Bosch. So, you may want to ask a parts outlet that deals in Bosch.

Also, perhaps a phone call and a visit to any junkyards with Volvo 300-series in them for a used part replacement?

You may want to research Volvo automobile enthusiast boards in your nation, region, and continent. My google search in the inside of the U.S. states may limit what results I receive that are useful to you and the repair of your Volvo 300 series.

Yes, I have a Volvo 360 GL. Thank you for the comprehensive information list. Unfortunately I have already searched most of the websites you mention. No mention of part 7210941 on any of them.
