I'm trying to find a color coded wiring diagram for 1974 142. I have the B&W Haynes diagram but it is hard to read. Any help or links appreciated.

Try ebay - search for Volvo wiring diagram - there are several colored 160 wiring diagrams for sale - if your year is not shown, contact the seller - this can be done in one of the listings by asking a question.

If you have never used ebay, you will be amazed at the Volvo parts for sale.

Thank you. I was on Ebay earlier, found some color coded wiring diagrams for other models. I'll use your suggestion and inquire if this one is available. I have bought several items on Ebay for the 142 and also for 122 which I worked on through the summer and fall.

Further, I have the Haynes Volvo 142, 144 & 145 Owner's Workshop Manual (purple or fuchsia color cover) for 140 series model years 1968 to 1974, with carbed and D-Jet injected wiring harness line art diagrams. The wiring diagrams may not reflect updates to the 1974 model year as the publish date is 1974. (Though these are Volvo-auto produced diagrams.) I can scan and send you as PDF or jpeg.

However, the info on k-jet.org and volvotips.com should treat you right.
