Strut dust cap NEEDED 200

Hey guys,
I’m in need of the one strut top nut / mount dust cap that's gone missing after having an alignment done on my beloved 90’ wagon. Of course the boys at the Firestone shop deny everything and won’t own up their ‘workmanship’. Still a bit of a mystery as to why they remove the caps in the first place? … It’s what I get for alignment shopping base on coupons.

    Strut dust cap NEEDED 200

    Hi white90brick,

Those FireStone bastards!!!!! Midas did that to me once like in the 1980s. I had spares from the junkyard.

Volvo calls it a Protecting cap. Part Number: 1205982

    #28 in the image:

Under the dust cap that covers and seals out the weather from the inside of the strut mount ... apply some silicon synthetic grease like SuperLube NLGI-2 so you ensure the bearing lubrication. Don't use hydrocarbon grease as it deteriorates the rubber bushing material.

Best to use Volvo strut mount Volvo PN 1272455. Should be stamped Boge someplace on it with a Made in Spain open to the top ball bearing. (Use to be SKF in the good owld dayze.)

Tascs Parts lists it as discontinued.

Someone may have spares. Or check your local junkyard.

    Questions?

    Hope that helps.

    Mac Duffed.
