Replaced springs, now front of the car sits higher than rear 444-544 1964

Hi all!

The latest issue I am now facing with my 544 is this "stance" issue. Long story short, I've replaced the entire suspension with new parts, including the springs.

Now the front of the car is sitting a fair bit higher than the rear of the car.

My first thought was that there might be something weighing it down, but the trunk is empty (aside from the spare and jumper cables).

Is there a chance I might have mixed something up? I know that suspension can "settle" into place, but this seems a little excessive to me. The springs I'm using are (supposedly) stock ride height.

Hopefully this is the last piece of the puzzle for getting this car back to being a daily driver!

Thanks as always.

When you say entire suspension...do you mean front and rear? If so, are they aftermarket parts or did you somehow find OEM NOS springs?

My first assumption would be that only the front springs were replaced and the rears have a significant amount of sag from decades of use.

My second would be that the OEM springs, either front or rear, are a different rate (coil "wire" thickness) or free length. This recently happened on my truck front springs. After install, I measured the coil diameter and found them to be the same as a different model (1998 2500HD instead of the 1995 2500). It raised the ride height over 2" (above stock).

Did you install the front springs correctly?

The front springs have a ground flat side that goes up against the crossmember and a unground coil at the bottom.

The lower control arm has a pocket to accept the end of the spring and you have to make sure the spring is seated properly as you raise the lower A-arm into position.
